fantastic contraption: up the stairs PSYCHO FAIL

2:45 is when it starts. this is the first time ive seen any contraption go psycho. It DOES FAIL however believe me. this is worth watching. oh, and anyone who thinks they are very smart, explain what happens! id like to hear what ya got to say bout it XD. anyways, hope you enjoy. i know idiot. Ive beating every map, and i did it without using giant contraptions like this, its called trying new stuff. Most of my videos are like this, exaggerated attempts. they are much more fun to watch in my opinion than ones where they beat it the simple way. There are plenty of tutorials out there for people who need help so why make one of them?

It's pretty simple, man.

Fantastic Contraption is based on a verlet physics system, which involves particle bodies and constraints as the main physics bodies. When there are so many constraints in one construction, sometimes there aren't enough solving iterations to fix it properly, and shit goes crazy.

did you ever stop to think about the reason for putting the music you did to go with the subject matter? For myself, physics based puzzle engines don't exactly scream 'nu metal'. Also, you could always edit the video after the fact.

I think I know how it happened. It fell over, then the wooden bars stopped one of the motor's movement. It had to go, so it somehow disconnected the wooden bars and released all of its energy at one time, which jammed up a different motor. That motor was connected to the others but couldn't move as well as the others, so it collected energy until it gained enough to break through the jam, but in turn started getting the other motors misaligned and throwing itself everywhere. That's my theory.O_O
