its all about traction, gearing and momentum. a big overpowered motor could make you spin pretty easy meaning you loose traction, big trucks with big engines tend to have higher gears as well so they can still maintain some semblance of fuel economy so that people will buy them, and momentum is not as difficult to gain when you weigh so little. jeeps for life!
