Matthew 25: 1-9 illustrates the importance of having enough to last during the tough times. Better to have and not need, than to need and not have. These snow storms, Natural disasters and such are a sign that difficulties can come on suddenly and without any immediate advance warning. Live smart, and store up while you can. Let go of the frivolous things that consume your time, your money, your energy - and they leave you empty afterwards.

  • I pray that my comment below meets you in peace and not with strife.

  • Thank you for your comment and the scripture reference. It serves to balance what I have said, in order that no-one will take my admonititions out of context. You are right, that we must seek first the Kingdom and His righteousness. There are folks in this youtube audience who need both parts of the discussion. Some folks need to get a preparation-mindset, because as Proverbs says, they are slothful. Other folks need to humble themselves and learn to depend on the Lord God, and not themselves.

  • Sound wisdom but it is worldly wisdom as the scriptures says. Consider Luke 12:13-58. Peace to you and my love.

To any who may not have a bible to read these scriptures; The Lord said, "Therefore I say unto you, take no thought for your life, what you shall eat, either for the body what you shall put on. For all these things the nations of the world seek after & your Father knows that you have need of these things. But rather seek the kingdom of God & all these things shall be added unto you.

  • I will caution you, however about your indictment of my admonition as being "worldly wisdom". My admonition to work, and to be prudent, and to have provisions is not worldly - it is found throughout scripture. You may correct and reprove, however you must do so within the framework of the whole counsel of God, as expressed in the totality of His Word. I love you too brother, in the name of the Lord Jesus. Blessings and peace to you and yours. Keep up the good work.

  • To all that will save and seek to make provision for themselves. While in itself it is not a bad thing, but know that the Lord has warned ample times about our hearts being overcharged with surfeiting and drunkenness and cares of this life so that day of the Lord comes upon us unaware. Luke 21:34

My friend, this is my only concern with your words today; that some viewing may become unprepared while attempting to become prepared. Be reminded that he that seeks to save his life shall lose it.

  • Remember we are being prepared for the coming of Lord. A day in which the Lord commands, "Let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains; Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take anything out of his house; Neither let him that is in the field return back to take his clothes..." Mat. 24

Let us only be watchful, The Lords says sell what you have and give alms. Provide yourselves bags which wax not old a treasure in the heavens that fails not.

Go and understand what that means.

  • @TheWordCenterChurch ...You mentioned there are folks that "need" both parts of the discussion...

They that are slothful need only what Christ said, "SEEK ye FIRST the Kingdom of God & His righteousness....and ALL these things will be added to you. My brother I understand your point, however many listening can be distracted from Christ, because there is no other discussion to mention outside of Christ.

    God Bless.

  • Amen and Praise God. He truly is working through you brother Jeff. Another great message.

  • keep spreading the word brother!

  • Brother, as someone who lives in earthquake country (CA), those were wise words.
