This egg is obviously over-cooked !! As a golden rule to cleaning up historical recordings one could say : " never "mess" with the music like that. There's always a part of the higher pitch one could remove without touching the sound, but as for violin, that's not gonna be much...

@sobie99 3 years later, and I still totally agree with you, It was one extreme to another with this... too much hiss & crackle, versus the painful high pitch... I prefer the hiss & crackle version to my own version... but very happy some people have found pleasure in my cooking :-)
