I think after it was confirmed that he had found "the one" he believed in himself more, and with seeing Neo's ability first hand, it gave more confidence and maybe picked up on things he didn't know were possible. It's funny, he told neo when hes ready, it wouldnt have to dodge bullets. But seeing it opened his eyes wider knowing theres bigger things.
