Rafael Nadal practicing at the US open on Aug 26 2008. He had a lot of problems with his back hand today and was complaining all the time. The second player he hit with was Philipp Kohlschreiber from Germany.

  • Thanks for the good feedback guys. I really had only my wife's canon sd1000 and I had to stablize my hand on the sit in front of me.

  • Yoramgaon, thank you for the info -you heard Rafa complained about his backhand!

  • Yeah at one point he screamed in great frustration "que passa" at his coach and the crowed laughed and immitated him. He didn't like it.

  • Nadal is so entertaining to watch play not like boring Murray. It's not like I hate Murray but I think that his game is not fun to watch even though he plays very well.

  • Actually he uses full western - maximum topspin. I don't know how you can tell from slow motion videos, especially considering that the two grips are technically less than a centimeter apart. It appears full western anyways since the racket face is down before the pronation. He gets the racket speed from correct form and strength; something all 5+ level players should be able to do. On top of that I'm sure he uses lead tape and puts it on the top tip of the frame for extra power.

  • @scorchfrost i am pretty sure he uses the RPM blast

  • ugh, does anyone know what string rafa uses? i hate the sound it makes when he hits the ball, it sounds like hes hitting the frame every time

  • @cj397 go look at fed's haha its way faster :O

  • Srry srry srry...... Nadal does use semi western

  • i'm sorry, but the 4th bevel is actually a semi-western. the 5th bevel is a full western.

    2nd bevel-continental

    3rd bevel- eastern

    in-between 3rd and 4th- extreme eastern (federer)

    4th- semi-western (rafa)

5th- western (basically reserved for clay-court specialists or weird people like novak djokovic)

ps. i dont mean to criticize nole, he's an awesome player

  • the 4th bevel is full western

  • i don't know man, i watch his slow-motion videos a lot and when i pause it at the right time and look at his index knuckle, it's clearly on the 4th bevel, not the 5th

  • um no he use full western. You can even tell from this video of how he drops his rarquet and how he hits it too and who dosent know that nadal uses western

  • 4:10 and on is more insanity
