Isabel Allende came to America after leaving Chili in 1977 after a military coup disrupted the country. In this interview, Allende talks about war and the influences of her mother. She also talks about her Spanish and Catholic background and about carrying the 2006 Winter Olympic torch behind Italian film actress Sophia Lauren.

  • Terrible writer.... don't see why everyone loves such CRAP!!!!!

  • @drumr0070 Right but I wanted to emphasize that 'pov' is not necessarily 'truth', as some ppl tend to think when they hear or read the opinion of a renowned person.

  • @bichomaldito Didn't you mean her pov?

  • Come on KCTS, it's Chile, not Chili.... are you retarded?!

  • "Yankees" aren't stupid, and they know that every story has 2 sides. IA comes from a leftist background, and that explains his pov about Chile. However, I wouldn't say she is wrong or telling lies when talking about torture and exile, but hers is just half the story of what happened in Chile and who caused this sort of civil war.

  • You have touched my soul Isabel,,, and you have always made me feel proud of being a Chilean woman just like you

  • She speaks of socialism, human rights, anti-capitalism, revolution and pigs rich political right. But she has made a million dollar fortune and is a very rich woman, writing for the Yankees stupid and ignorant Americans.
