That's Don Thompson on bass, and Terry Clarke on drums. From a CBC Vancouver performance. Both of them also played extensively with Jim Hall and Ed Bickert and Lenny Breau... In fact, those two can play with ANYone!
@goodfriends5573 There is a big difference between the style of eletric guitarrists and the ones who use effects and the guitar players of these previous periods in music, I think this comparisson shouldn´t be done as each one is good in its own universe. That´s the same if I said '' I wonder if Barney could play like Hendrix or like some metal guitar players ''. The same answer for both ' possibilities ' : maybe yes ... maybe not ... so, why think inside the '' IF '' universe ?
Funny, I never understood guys who want to "give up" when they hear great players.. It always inspired me and made me practive harder and want to be better, and play as well or better than my idols.. I know sometimes guys are just kidding, but I never even kidded about that--if somebody played better than me, I'd actually get angry, be determined to work hard, come back and blow them away! But that's me....
Be still my beating heart. Genius.
