I have canon hg10. it can record macro upto . 0.5cm..i think all canon hd camcorders can record macro..

I'm looking at getting this camera, but I'm wondering if my computer will be able to handle it.

3gb RAM
32-bit Vista
Editing on Vegas Platinum 9.0b

4 GB Ram
32 bit vista
ATI Radeon HD 3450
Editing with Corel Video Studio 12
It jumps when editing but the processing goes fine and the converted video plays fine.

You don't actually need one with this one. I had a wide angle lens on which caused the soft edges
