@poetgb Disproved by scientists?? No. Duane Gish and Kent Hovind and other so called creationist "scientists" do not count. Show me a scientist with an unbiased education and years of research under their belt.
"If so, primitive people would've interpreted it as some divine meaning"
There are other parts of the bible where the writers have misinterpreted physical phenomena as having divine/supernatural meaning. When Moses was talking to God, they were actually describing God as a volcano.
This was actually quite common in those times. The ancient Greeks too attributed Gods to explain volcanoes, earthquakes, thunderstorms, and just about any natural phenomena
Nope. Bogus creation "scientists" like to fool themselves, but they have not to this day disproven any evidence evolution theory is founded on, nor have they even attempted to explain the facts under their own creation hypothesis. If creation hypothesis can explain and unify the facts evolution theory is based on, then one may postulate creationism to be plausible. But at the moment it is anything but possible.
"Since there was no flood? And you were there to see what happened thousands of years ago?"
We don't need to be there to see it. There's this thing called geology that can reveal billions of years into the past. There is absolutely no geological evidence of a global flood.
There is however, some evidence of an oceanic comet impact in the Atlantic off the coast of Madagascar perhaps 4500-5000 years ago. If so, primitive people would've interpreted it as some divine meaning
@poetgb The bible also says that if a virgin girl is raped that the rapist should pay the girls father and marry her. (Deut 22:28-29). Is your God as terrible as those words?
