The Poly Blues was written by Perry Sandifer when he was the Poly band director in 1945. Perry Sandifer is my Dad and lived to age 98 and passed away a year and a half ago. This song was an all-time favorite with the crowds at all games and pep rallies. I highly encourage the Poly Band to revive this song - it has great solos for instrumentalists to "jazz it up."
Yes, this school still exists and it remains one of the best schools in Fort Worth...this music was made "back in the day"... when Poly had the best marching band and the best stage band in Ft. Worth...1964 -1967.

I will always remember the school. Graduated in 1965 and was member of The Marching 100. I wonder of those herald trumpets still exist.
