At a recent Cisco Infoblox event I asked Doug Gourlay what he thinks of the definition of Infrastructure 2.0.
Douglas Gourlay is the Senior Director of Marketing and Product Management for Cisco Systems Data Center Business Unit and Central Marketing Organization.
In his role in Data Center Product Management Doug is responsible for leading the product management of high-speed data center Ethernet and FibreChannel switching systems and advanced L4-7 services. This includes next-generation Data Center Class systems development and key programs evolving the role of Ethernet in the Data Center.
Doug is also responsible for leading the solutions marketing group responsible for Cisco’s global marketing strategy and execution in the data center. This includes the Application Networking, Storage Networking, Infiniband, Blade Switching, and Wide-Area Application Services product areas and their derivative solutions.
Doug is an eight-year Cisco veteran and has played a number of key roles in hardware, software, and systems architecture development across Cisco, including the development of the first hardware wireless switching platform, global server load balancing systems, and most recently as the Director of Marketing for the multi-billion dollar Catalyst 6500 Product Line. Doug has filed or holds over 20 patents in networking technologies.
Prior to joining Cisco Doug worked in a variety of telecommunications and consulting roles and served as an Airborne Infantry Officer in the United States Army.
