Do you collaborate with other Excel users who use the same workbook? For example, are you responsible for just one part of a budget that must be combined into a Master Budget?

If so, you want to watch this short Excel Video Lesson to learn the steps to follow to successfully Share Changes that you and your colleagues make to an Excel 2007 workbook.

I invite you to visit my website - www.thecompanyrocks.com - to view all of my video lessons.

  • Hi Danny sir ,

  • @navingangaputra

YouTube does not allow me to type in my e-mail or website address in the comments area.

You can find my email address quickly by either:

    1) Going to My Channel for DannyRocksExcels where the information is displayed

    2) Pause the opening of any of my tutorials - I display my Business Card (with my email address) at the beginning of each lesson.

I am pleased that you enjoy my tutorials.

  • this is exactly what i need but i seem to have some problems with merging i keep getting the error : "filename.xls can't be merged into current workbook.workbooks to be merged must be copies made from the same shared workbook" and i can't make a copy of the ORIGINAL FILE cos it's on another computer (work regarded i got half to do and the workmate got the other half) so same file same data i just need to do half and then merge them BUT I JUST CAN'T DO IT! pls help

    thx!

I can only offer limited help in your situation. As I understand your problem it seems that you are working from a file that is stored on your workplace server. Your Netword Administrator has probably added in several layers of protection or encryption.

My tutorial uses the premise of using a Non-Networked Excel File.

I suggest that you speak with your IT Department or Network Administrator to get advice for enabling you and your co-worker to collaborate on this project.

  • THANKS!

The "Yellow Spot" that you see attached to my cursor is part of my Video Editing Software - Camtasia Studio. It is NOT part of the Excel program. I add the spot and the cursor effects during the editing stage for my video tutorials.

    Thanks for writing to me.
