Dr. Niberto Moreno, a noted cardiothoracic surgeon in Miami, FL discusses the results of a study recently published in the New England Journal of Medicine. The study compared bypass surgery to angioplasty in patients with multiple blockages in their heart arteries.
which type of treatment would be advisable for me ..people are suggesting angioplasty but not in Karachi ...somewhere in the UK, Dubai or USA. Can any specialist advise?

I had a heart attack 12 years ago (angioplasty revealed left main artery 80% blockage in ONE artery only) at 32 yrs..and since then no angina pains despite heavy exercise (upto 1.5-2 hours medium weight workouts preceded and followed by either a 'walk/jog' warm up or squash or swimming. But recently I am experiencing angina again, the same 'type' of pain that i had experienced 12 years ago but of a much lower grade. also, i had ECG changes in my recent ETT. Only one of my arteries is blocked

Is angioplasty a safe option in less developed countries such as Pakistan ..or will the best results come from having the procedure done in, say Dubai, or USA??
