@TaOOOO I don't use softclaws, I merely trim my cats' claws and provide them with scratch poles. Nothing agro about my cats at all, they're happy, healthy animals and they don't scratch the furniture. If they do, I'll give them a quick squirt of water, and boy do they love a cuddle!

If the cat is self mutilating perhaps you should address its mental health rather than temper its ability to act out. And, if you have a $2000 leather couch you don't want scratched, maybe you should have considered a goldfish instead.
