From the Kralingen Pop Festival, Holland, The Netherlands.

AWESOME Guitar interplay here between Roger & Clarence. :-)

Other bands at the festival included Canned Heat, Jefferson Airplane, Pink Floyd, T-Rex, Fairport Convention, The Soft Machine, & It's A Beautiful Day.

  • It's a shame that Roger later turned against Skip and made gratuitous disparaging remarks about his playing.

  • There were many changes in the Byrds but this lineup was a solid staple on the national touring circuit for several years. This Byrds is my favorite band. The first Byrds are my second favorite and then ten thousand others follow closely.

  • 6/28/1970? I thought the Kralingen Festival was in February of 1970.

  • Fuck ya, I know people always knock the last the two last Byrds records but there are some quintessential rock and roll on them, for example pale blue, i trust, bugler, and this one, plus a few more. Fucking long live the Byrds, there is no band that epitomizes grass, LSD, the drink and fortunately or unfortunately cocaine then the Byrds. Rock and Roll at its best!

  • @gramhound86 I agree-you can read about it in "Timeless Flight" by Johnny Rogan, the best book about the Byrds

  • @gibb253 Really? Always loved Skips playing, especially his playing and sound on the live portion of untitled. I also love Roger McGuinn, but in this lineup of musicians musicians, he was musically really not the strongest point, and it really feels kind of silly of him, if he did to slag skips playing.

  • similar to sugar magnolias by greatful dead. But I think this is before that song. Still

    like The Byrds though.

  • @Byrds1967 Yep. Its on "Dr. Byrds & Mr. Hyde." The lineup was McGuinn, White, York, and Kevin Kelly on drums.

Speaking of drums, Gene Parsons has never gotten his due for the drummer he is. The guy's fantastic!

  • Only Mcguinn can wirte a song about a dog and horse ... now thats just lame ... give me eight miles high and wasnt born to follow
