Protect Marriage WA are LIARS.

Here are some of the lies that are being spewed by protectmarriagewa.com in order to scare voters into voting no on Referendum 71.

I hope everyone who saw the video they posted were smart enough to know that it was absolute bull. Propaganda designed specifically to scare you into thinking that A) SB 5688 legalizes gay marriage, which it didn't, B) SB 5688 forces public schools to teach homosexuality, which it also did not do, and C) SB 5688 opens the gate for persecution of religious believers and silencing of free speech, which is an absolute lie and it is wrong to associate that with this bill.

they are liars, this is true. Kind of peeves me off (among other things) that they think a school can override parents. If parents don't want their kids to learn sex ed or evolution, they can withdraw their kids from said classes (at least in BC). Not that they should.

this is true for the most part in Seattle, too. There is a consent form for parents to sign when fifth graders start sex ed, and if the parent refuses to sign, they just go to a different class for the time that the other students are taking the class.

She claims that since Jesse Jackson doesn't compare gay marriage to the black civil rights movement - it must not be a civil rights issue...

She's evidently never heard of Bayard Rustin who was Martin Luther King Jr.s best friend... a gay, black, socialist who organized the March on Washington where King gave his "I have a dream" speech... :P
