FINALLY! January 2012 has arrived and I get to have Hopslam again. This was the beer that really made me say "wow" about craft beer and I haven't turned back since. Check out this review to see if this beer really lives up to the hype, cheers!

Bell's
Hopslam
Double IPA
10% ABV

Cheer to Beers Rating: A+
Appearance 10/10
Smell 10/10
Taste 20/20
Mouthfeel 10/10
Overall: 50 Points

Beer Advocate Rating: 99/100
Rate beer Rating: 100/100

From the brewery...

" Starting with six different hop varietals added to the brew kettle & culminating with a massive dry-hop addition of Simcoe hops, Bell's Hopslam Ale possesses the most complex hopping schedule in the Bell's repetoire. Selected specifically because of their aromatic qualities, these Pacific Northwest varieties contribute a pungent blend of grapefruit, stone fruit, and floral notes. A generous malt bill and a solid dollop of honey provide just enough body to keep the balance in check, resulting in a remarkably drinkable rendition of the Double India Pale Ale style."

  • I just wanna say this was my first time to watch any of your videos but I really like your show

  • @EcksXeroVER1 Thanks a lot! I feel like doing this show helps me evaluate beer ever more than I did before and I have a lot of fun doing it.

  • @ CheerstoBeers $15 for 6 here in GA.

  • @TheBitterUpperLip I wish that was the case in Ohio.

  • good price! I paid 21.50 for a 6 and im nervious that this beer is sold by the hype at this point vs being the hop bomb it was when first brewed 10 years ago.

  • @VaMoneyCow Yeah I think living in Ohio the price is decent. I've heard as lower as 16 dollars for a six. I honestly think this beer lives up to the hype extremely well. It just does something different that all over double ipas don't do.
