Metro Transit's Hiawatha Line light rail (route 55) is squeezed into the middle of Old Shakopee Road/34th Ave S in this section of suburban Bloomington on its run from downtown Minneapolis to the airport and the Mall of America. Due to the narrow space in the middle of the wide road, the inbound platform is north of American Blvd, while the outbound platform is south of it. Just north of the station, the line dips underneath I-494 and- amazingly- crosses the busy intersections leading to the exit and entrance ramps to the interstate from Old Shakopee/34th. Here, a northbound train departs, and a southbound one passes by, heading across American Boulevard to the outbound platform.

  • That would be at American Boulevard in Bloomington MN. It's not too far from the MOA site. What I don't understand is at 0:17. Why the hell did they build BOTH tracks on only ONE side of the platform? So the train coming at us at 0:17, how are those people supposed to get off the damn train?

  • Where is that at ?
