these waves are by no mean "big" or "monster," as the reporter says. san diego can easily produce a 20ft face that will dwarf these waves on a good day.

Used to live there Swami's is a fun wave but that looks kinda average not that big but I have never seen PCH or the line up that crowded.

Ya there is a video on youtube called, "The Big Surf" on swamis and I believe it was this very same day/session. If you watch that whole video, You'll see some of those outsiders were around 12+ when they stood up at their peak...

No for real on this very session, the SD Union Tribune ran their article about surfing Swamis with some pics. And one wave a guy caught on the outside WAS over 15 on the front (I want to say this pic was on the front cover?). Looked like most of the waves were 8 to maybe 10 but I swear that pic of that wave was large and in charge. Its too bad this video clip didnt capture it...
