By 1993, the elite who had controlled Somalia, people who were educated had left the country. The only ones left were the ones who had destroyed the country. Trust me I dated a girl from Somalia a couple years ago. Her father was a civil-servant back in the 1970s and 1980s the time when Somalia had a working government. When Somalia collaped around 1991 her and her family fleed to Denmark.

@YAHSPETSNAZ He also calls it a defeat when in fact the mission achieved its objectives.

@JTF2Canadian27 What makes me smile, is that this whole event, and Clinton's eventual unwise withdrawl of the US rangers from somalia in 1993 after this happened, supposedly convinced Osama Bin Laden that the USA was a "paper tiger", and could easily be beaten. I am happy knowing that he believed this until his well deserved death, when a US Navy SEAL put two bullets in his head.

@Troy62486 al Qaeda was, they were training the militia.
Respect from the Netherlands, R.I.P. U.S. soldiers

I think the video description was taken right off of a rollingstone magazine article

lol i love the description. they forgot to mention that america lost like 17 people, and between 1 and 10 thousand somali militia were killed. you also forget how the rangers returned to the base to resupply, but then returned to battle, and at the end, the delta force teams are getting ready to go into the city again. what an ignorant asshole.

@blackrain4xmas I bet you don't have half the balls to do what these soldiers did in Mogadishu. Fuck you.

it seems like 5 people did not enjoy that little stroll down national street (code name for that street) in the lovely city of Mogadishu
Funny how you say they were running, from what I see they killed everyone that would stand infront of them.
