Passengers stuck on planes. Passengers stuck on planes stuck on the tarmac. Airline delays. Lost bags. Lost luggage. Passengers stuck on Jet Blue for ten hours. Passengers need a Bill of Rights. Sure Jet Blue apologized. But did American Airlines and Northwest when they stranded their passengers on planes delayed and stuck on the tarmac? Passengers on Jet Blue had no water. Had no food. Had no clean airplane toilet facilities.
Passengers who have been delayed;Passengers who have lost baggage. Passengers who are stuck on planes are mad as hell and aren't going to take it any longer.
Passengers are fighting the airlines back. Passengers are insisting on a Bill of Rights. What do stranded, delayed passengers hope to get from the Passenger Bill of Rights?
Airline passengers are lobbying congress to come up with a Passenger Bill of Rights. What does the Passenger Bill of Rights do? The Passenger Bill of Rights insists airlines explain exactly why a flight is delayed, and insists that airlines provide adequate food, water, sanitary facilities and access to medical attention for passengers left stuck on planes.
The Bill of Right demands airlines return passengers to terminals when delays occur and under no conditions should a plane sit on the tarmac for longer than 3 hours.

  • Passengers can't wage a Revolutionary War because they can't bring muskets past the security checkpoint. We're doomed!

  • @pete5668 I hear you! Good point. What are we to do?

  • Depends...I think the situation with airline indifference ad ineptitude is scandalous..an emergency in customer relations? Who can say, Thanks for writing!

  • no excuse to leave people on the plan that long !! opeen a fucking gate, bring them water, just let them off the plane wtf!!! sue the airline!!!

  • Got that right!

  • Right before they started letting people off the plane I would gather as many as I can and we each would shit and piss on the carpet at the back of the plane. People could always boycott jet blue but I'm pretty sure they won't because the airline is cheap just like the people flying.

  • @klewis511 on an aribus one uses stairs all the time

  • @jrjr143 They should bring a toilet truck out to the plane, maybe a flatbed with port-a-potties on it.

  • A thousand things could happen. There is no way to win for the Airlines. Like here, they didn't let them off and all this happened. But, I think they just take what is most likely to happen and prevent that. But in the end you'll always lose.

  • I think you misunderstood what I said. This has nothing to do with me, or my "own medical problems".

The idea that I was trying to get across is that the airline could get into trouble with a passenger who faints on a stranded plane OR with someone slipping on stairs.

  • Why would you faint? And I don't believe you can sue them for that. Sounds like your own medical problems. If you have medical problems they can accommodate.

  • >Plus can you imagine the risk of using stairs with injury involved. Someone could slip and then the airline has a whole new set of problems.

Can't be any worse than someone fainting on a stranded plane, and then suing them into oblivion.

  • this is garbage legislation, although it's well-meaning. the proponents of legislation tend to be static-minded and unaware of the dynamic effects this would (likely) cause. those who are proposing this are clueless about taxiway dynamics, airline scheduling, tactical decision-making, and airline operations. there are things that can be done, but this is most certainly NOT it and the very thought of imposing a cap on the delay (which affect less than 0..1% of all flights) is spurious at best.

  • I know the conditions suck ass...but they hardley warrant an "emergency"

  • I agree that Jet Blue owned up to the situation better than the other airlines did, and they fixed some things, But with air travel down we may not see this problem again for a long time!

    Thanks for writing

  • true but they did say sorry what do u want them to due they even served ice cream at some places it happens to every one and jetblue shows a supreiseing level of down to earthness compared to other mega coraprations

    LONG LIVE JETBLUE

  • As far as the idea of them cancelling there flight, most airline tickets are non-refundable. And im sure they wouldn't switch flights because they knew and you should know, no one else was flying. This was an issue with everyone. the problem was this was Jet Blue got left out to dry. Someone was gonna be, they just ended up being unlucky. believe it or not, airlines are more about safety than money.

  • They tried stairs. They didn't couldn't find any for that type of aircraft that wasn't in use from another airline. Plus can you imagine the risk of using stairs with injury involved. Someone could slip and then the airline has a whole new set of problems. Jet blue tried to get these people off. the problem is the media didn't give the full story (as usual.) good suggestion but your idea was mentioned to jet blue but couldn't be used.

  • Ah they don't need a gate to go back to. Did you ever hear of stairs, they use them quite frequently at airports. They could have just deplanced the pax and returned them to the terminal by bus. At least they would have a little more space, bathrooms to use and food to eat. But it's not in the airlines interest to do so as some of the pax may book with someone else or just cancel their flight which then costs the airline money. That's the real reason they leave them sitting on the aircraft.

  • I think what we would rather have are standard procedures that inform the public what's going on, plenty of water and food during the wait and clean toilets

    To start with

    Thanks for writing\tvp

  • Hey wake up. Even if the law that a plane couldn't sit on the tarmac for more than 3 hours did apply. It still would have happened. They had no gate to go back too. Tell me what they were suppose to do. Would you rather take off and die or sit on the ground and life. Theres nothing Jet Blue could have done. Also this happened to many other airlines as well, Jet Blue just got stranded.

  • Yep, if congress won't listen, we will have to take other actions.

  • Thanks for the info. We suspect the airlines will block any real attempt at imposed regulation. Keep trying and do watch our other Travel Video Postcards and Alerts

  • There's a group named flyersrights that is leading the charge to curtail these practices which should be illegal and have become routine in recent years.

  • We don't blame you. Contact your congressional rep and ask about the passenger Bill of Rights that Sen Boxer is supporting.
