Hello mrs. Chua. I have a question, for coloring the girls face and eyes, did you use gradients or the mesh tool (I think that is the name, I use a spanish version of illustrator, but I think you know what I mean)?

Whateva1983 - I use gradient swatches together with clipping masks. I don't use the gradient mesh tool, in general.

Yes, I think I was using the Pen tool exclusively (or almost exclusively) for this. It was some time ago so I don't remember exactly, but I use the Pen tool most of the time in Illustrator anyway.

In the beginning you made a black blob to rough in the shape of the face and then in the next second it switches to that blob now being an outline. How did you do that? Did you just end up deleting the blobby shape or did you outline the blobby shape?

@milowerx The video is really sped up, from what I remember. It was a test more of the video capture software than a how-to video. I work with the Pen tool; I form shapes and tweak them by adjusting the anchor points.
