I take it you mean that the crease in the elbow has to be verticle which I totally agree but I doubt Jang would be able to do it without having some string contact issues.
I believe a recurve should never be shot with a bent elbow as it promotes excessive and unnecessary muscle usage. Jang's elbow is hyperextended.
It looks to me like his elbow is double jointed so in order to shoot with a locked arm and have sufficient string clearance at the same time, he has to really over rotate his elbow out.
I think the concept of biomechanics is all about using the bones to take the majority of the bows draw weight to minimise the use of muscles. Mr Jang to me shows excellent use of biomechanics with no sign of fatigue.
errr....he's elbow is over-twisted after all(not biomechanic)....he has a good form...but no the best...I recomanded to watch and learn from Park Kyung Mo.
I've seen this film for about ten times now (not in a row), and believe it or not,... but I actually think he makes a slight mistake with the shot at 0:53. You can see a little torque on his bow at follow through, as if he didn't expect the clicker yet.
Beautiful expansion on the back!

it is better to shot with a verticle elbow than a twisted one.

I shoot with the Matrix and although its a few years old now, in the hands of someone like this, its still a kick as bow.
