This guy built, out of the side of an Alaska mountain, a water recycling, self-sustaining shelter. Out of some fairly simple stuff. The goal was for third world countries in desert areas to have a model to build homes by. Somewhere Kevin Kostner is kicking himself for drinking the urine straight in Waterworld...

  • @rodrick4500 A dolly would pick up those drums easily and roll them out to wherever you're dumping it.

  • @cheaphardwarez Appearently this guy doesn't answer his comment section...did you ever find out where the liquid goes at the bottom by the flange? I bet he just leaves it in there and lets it evaporate, because it DOES have a vent system. Cool idea with the swivel barrels though.

  • Never use human or meat-eating animal's feces for compost!

Only plant eaters like horses, cows, rabbits, chicken manure is safe for gardens and it has to be old or cool.

  • You could use the compost to sprinkle on government GMO crops

  • How long is the black pipe from the toilet seat to the top of the barrel? I see it's waterless too so what happens if you have terrible diarrhea and the liquid feces gets all over that black pipe before it enters the barrel, how would a guest (or myself) know how to clean it? Not trying to be gross but it's a question I'd like answered because I'm modeling my bathroom toilet after this one. Thanks!

  • drums are too big to handle when full but this is a great idea i will use lots of your ideas form earth worm composer thanks

  • So there is a hole/flange in the bottom to keep liquid away from the compost. Is there no excess liquid that over flows through that hole? If there is liquid that leaves the drum where does it go? Do you have a drain under the barrel that is in use?

  • There is no excess liquid. By separating the urine, whatever excess there is, evaporates.

  • No, the first thing he explains is the ventilation system.

  • So?
