http://homerepair.gregvan.com/foundation_repair/exposed_foundation_rebar.htm Building and framing houses requires a lot of thought and planning. With that said, anchor bolts can create a big problem if their position in the way of King studs for windows and doors. A long time ago concrete contractors and their workers use to poke anchor bolts and where ever they felt like it and often you would find anchor bolts in doorway openings that needed to be cut off. This never made much sense to me, but as building codes get tougher and structural engineers require framing contractors to install more structural walls, posts, hold downs and other types of building hardware, the framing contractors job gets tougher. If you're planning on building a home or framing a room addition, you should watch the more of our videos to learn more about other construction and remodeling problems.

  • A good solution is to lay out the slab form boards for the doors, windows & studs then put the bolts anywhere else!
