ITV in the Face: London (5 of 5)

It's almost over! The last regular ITV in the Face is a bumper episode running over half as long again as a usual one and dealing with the first and last ITV franchises: London, weekdays and weekends. I think it might be the best episode. Less Carlton than originally planned (I couldn't face it). And now I have the honour to retire from the case.

Incidentally, if you're in Germany, you can't watch this one because of the Tourists.

What have Cancer and Greedy-da done to our beloved Channel 3?!

ITV are a pathetic excuse of a broadcaster nowadays.

They've destroyed British Music through the X Factor.

They ram Z-list Celebrites down our throat at every opportunity.

And worst of all they destroyed Local news like Westcountry Live and Border Lookaround.

@ste1bro I use RealPlayer to download these videos, then I convert them using its converter feature to WMV Files. Lastly, I reassemble them in Movie maker.

I like the series, but what's the counterfactual? If Thames were still there, wouldn't they probably have declined as well? And have bought up all the other stations on the way (the others couldn't have existed without Thames after all). I reckon even a fully regionalised ITV today would be pretty bland.

What a fantastic set of vids. This should be broadcast on 'real' TV. Well done.

And it does make you think that ITV is now far blander, less exciting, less involved now than it ever was. It somehow feels, smaller, even though it's one single, big organisation.
