where did you get the episodes from? my grandfather served on the USS Spearfish and I heard it was featured in one of the episodes.

@JamieBarnes My grandfather was Adm. Dykers the executive producer of "Silent Service" back in 1957. my favorite episode is " The Jack at Tokyo ". That was his sub in the war.

Remember watching this as a youngster. Each episode was about the exploits of a particular boat if I recall.

@JamieBarnes The show "The Silent Service"got me into diesel submarines -- served aboard the USS Sailfish SSR572. The theme song, in the TV series, was the "Navy Hymn" -- The Navy Hymn is also sung in the movie "Crimson Tide." I'm looking for the complete 50's series -- hope it still exists somewhere.

OK- So this is the right looking opener, now,what

happened to the original theme music and song

that opened and closed this show?

Best I can remember: "Take her down and make her dive to the deep blue underneath the ocean, and control from depths below"..... ta da ta da, something like that. Sure would like to hear it again and get thoes lyrics right too!! Can anyone help on this? Thanks for reading.
