This is really cool! I was so worried the thing was just going to flop down while you were still forming it, but figures it didn't because you know what you're doing!
By the way, to you have your own studio, or is this a class or do you rent space somewhere? I'm asking because where you are looks awfully familiar...

how soft is porcelain? as in workability and grog content (not that there is grog in it im just asking if its gritty)
-
i made a bowl a little bigger then that. im only 17. and it was actually pretty much perfect. about half an inch thickness all around. THEN when i was trimming it. we had no bat for it O.o so i put a piece of plywood onto the wheel and centered it ontop of that. i got all done with trimming. and then i steppe down on the paddle accidentaley and the bowl exploded into a million pieces =P was a real bummer.. my teacher is mad cause he wanted to display it ^^

Why don't you keep the bowl??? >"<

Porcelain, my favorite.

ps- how do you trim something like that? Do you use a really big bat, or just trim it right side up, or what?

Really big bat.

everything is so neat and tidy in your studio. I wish I could keep things that clean.

I only pick up for videos, its is kinda like telling the rest in the room to shut up I'm taping and I care enough to clean some.

that tip about the rim is really gonna come in handy, thank you, and did you wedge it in sections or all in 1 25lb lump?

I think I did it in sections Im too lazy to do it all at once.
