@flylooper What's so silly about a double surgeons knot? Its about 5X easier and quicker to tie than a blood knot.

Very useful. The blood knot is what I call an "elegant" knot which it should be because (A) it works and (B) it's much better looking than a silly double surgeon's loop.The best knot for lines of unequal diameter.Very well photographed.

Nice Video, now I'm tying my own leaders using this knot and getting ready for the season. See, your 2007 Video is still helping people in 2011.

Is this the best knot to use when tying your own leader, tapering it from 2 or 3X down to 5X?

After checking out several other knots from other peoples videos I kind of wish you had more videos of other knots, because you're a lot easier to follow than the others I've seen! Thanks for making the video, now I know how to tie a blood knot!
