Fresh blood

As you who know me are aware, I do not and can not buy fake blood here in New Zealand. They do not celebrate Halloween and where I currently live, finding gore/horror items is unheard of. At most you can find a small white tube packaged with plastic fangs, sold in the "pranks" section of novelty stores. We all know that "blood" does not and never will look realistic.

Here is a close up of a fresh batch I made. At first there is a blurry video (the camera sucks, sorry) showing my real blood on the tip of my finger after I had pricked my finger for my daily blood test. I squeezed some out and then placed a bit of my fake blood next to it. I'm not sure how it looks on here but in real life the two match perfectly.
Then I show my mixture as I'm stirring it, and the globs of goo I use to grind into my skin for drippy, goopy effects. Lastly is the gel left on the bottom of the bottle. That replaces the gel blood you can buy in shops and is much thicker- very cool!

I don't follow what most people say and throw away my mixtures after 2 weeks. I let them sit and thicken and ferment. Then I scoop out the gunk and use that, and if the bottle is in the sun a few weeks you get the gel on the bottom.

What do I use to make my blood?
Well, that's a secret, sorry. What I will say is that I do take the normal formula ( corn syrup/golden syrup/ or glucose syrup, mix in tons of red food coloring and maybe some flour and molasses), but then I add in other...things as well. Anything from glue to cocoa to different colors, depending on what I'm after. It comes out different each time.

...And yes, I do realize real blood isn't so thick (I was going to answer your comment but then I lost it on accident)...but I need it to be for my photos and videos, so in the end it works out very very well. I also have more that is runny, but I hate runny blood. I need it to stay thick, dark, fresh, and clumped looking

Also I just noticed that the damned text totally didn't mix in at the right time, so it makes no sense and looks dumb...please ignore that bit! this video really does look crap so I'll be making another soon.
