Cory shares secrets to securing funding for early stage startups at the CCIA BioFuels dual-panel program Feb 11 at the Denver Chamber. About Altira and Cory:

Altira Group, a venture capital firm headquartered in Denver, focuses exclusively on investing in energy technology companies in both the traditional and renewable sectors. He brings to Altira extensive experience in material science and Cleantech product development and leads the teams efforts in energy technology assessment. Cory is on the Board of Directors at OPX BioProducts and Varidigm, and a Board Observer at eps Corp., EcoPower Solutions, Lilliputian Systems and NxtGen Emission Controls.

Prior to joining Altira, Cory directed multiple energy efficiency technology portfolio development projects at PPG Industries. Areas of focus included optical thin films, nanotechnology, catalysis, and polymer synthesis and processing. While at PPG, he initiated and directed several new portfolio clean technology development projects to successful product launch. Cory has authored 18 U.S. patents.

Cory has a Ph.D. in Materials Chemistry from the University of Michigan and an MBA in Finance from the Kellogg School of Management. While at the Kellogg School, he was concurrently a lecturer in Chemistry at Northwestern University
