Excellent advice from Alan Watts, it actually helped me because I was having a hard time choosing a career, thought I'd share it. It's from "Do You Do It, Or Does It Do You", part 4.

  • I was taught money is everything, that success = wealth. So I started studying commerce but over about 4 years I was at WAR inside with a persistent spark telling me there is a higher purpose to life. Finally TRUTH won; I did a back-flip, instead of applying for an office cubicle and 7AM commutes, I started studying wildlife biology. I'm now dedicated to saving the aye-aye of Madagascar and learning about prosimian endocrinology, am mostly broke, and never been happier :D!

  • I like doing nothing for career and that's what i am doing.

  • I've been fretting about money for the past few years and stepped outside today and just stared at the bees pollenating an orange tree and I was able to get really close and marvel at such a complexed process it really is and how simple it is projected when spoken of in simple terms. Point is, I forgot about everything but the nature at hand. I plan to study plant biology (botany) myself and OrthodoxDarwinists message resonated well with me, thank you.

  • @lightbrownpoop The Koch(pronounced Coke) brothers are billionaire anti-democratic industrialists+Herman Cain=Kochcain

Just a joke from the political spectrum.

  • @bozolazic whats Kochcain?

  • @lightbrownpoop Kochcain.

  • @bozolazic the first quote was by Herman Cain

  • @bozolazic are you sure the first quote was by einstein? i'm pretty sure it was someone else...

  • they desire money.. thats the only reason they are asking the question.. they want to know what should they do that is the most fun and least effort to make money.. so to them, its not a matter of what they want to be doing with their time, its a matter of finding the least offensive way to make what they really want, which is money

  • I am a full time volcano operator

  • But I already tried getting paid for watching daytime tv, wanking and eating biscuits.

  • @OrthodoxDarwinist broke but happy greed is the root of all evil homes should be free food should be produced by oneself and if you want something work for it right right.
