Company Overview: Bakuto Osaka 2010 General Information September 18th and 19th 2010 @The Namura Shipyard Complex in South Osaka BAKUTO from 2008 onward to 2010 In 2006 the first "BAKUTO" (lit. "exploding city") exhibition was held in Shinjuku, Kabukicho. At an abandoned Cabaret in Kabukicho for one night 800 people mobilized and an illusion became a legend. Again in 2008, September 6th and 7th at Osaka's Namura Shipyard a second exhibition was held -- it was host to over 2000 guests and became known as "BAKUTO 208″. Finally this year will see the second major BAKUTO event, "BAKUTO OsucKA 2010." Dancers, musicians, film makers, artists, cooks, fashion designers, tattooists and even robot builders from inside and outside Japan will converge again on the shipyard to display their cutting edge arts. In a genuine display of artists and audience coming together as one the event will open as a matsuri or festival setting. "With Osaka at the center we wish to express the efforts of artists around the world to a wider audience" This is the original idea behind Bakuto. Now as it expands into it's second stage, we wish to widen the scope of the event to include a variety of different artistic genres and encourage growth within and exchange between those genres. However this is not merely a festival gathering in Osaka to show off two years of effort by the original participating artists nor is it only an introduction of new young talent,... it is a chance to personally experience in an instant a "leveling up" from Japan to the entire world. This is the essence of BAKUTO OsucKA. Mission: CONCEPT In 2007 the Namura shipyard venue was recognized by the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry (METI) as a heritage site of modernization of industry. Inside the expanse of ruins of the seaside shipyard, a festival of the arts will be held -- an ideal concept brought to life by both artists and participants alike. By ideal setting we do not mean only a focus on humans and enterprise for financial benefit. The goal we wish to attain is the continued building of an event where participants also experience a positive spiritual benefit. What this event is aiming at is establishing an environment of free expression without bounds for any person. We wish to shine a light on the existing problem of such venues for creativity gradually disappearing. It is important for creators themselves to take that first step forward. TATTOO CONVENTION in BAKUTO Day 2 on the 4th floor / Nattsu & Benny of Chopstick Tattoo 60 tattoo artist booths form Osaka's FIRST Tattoo Convention A chance for guests to experience tattoos up close and personal -- not just as a fashion accessory but the artistic and cultural facets of the Tattoo World. All participation information is in both English and Japanese, available at the links provided below!
