That quote in context:
"For myself, also, I rejoice profoundly; for, thinking of so many cases of men pursuing an illusion for years and often a cold shudder has run through me, and I have asked myself whether I may not have devoted my life to a phantasy. Now I look at it as morally impossible that investigators of truth, like you and Hooker, can be wholly wrong, and therefore I rest in peace."
Just put in google to read the whole paragraph.

I took a copy camping. And later realized I hadn't brought any toilet paper... found a use for the first 50 pages.

I won't let my pals read the free copies! Aside from the stupid intro, they may have fucked up the content here and there, it's dangerous!

An introduction with ad hominems against darwin. Imagine how dumb that is. Could you imagine someone distributing a book about gravity with an introduction that says "Newton was a racist, just so you know. So don't take anything in here seriously." ?

Christianity would look bad even without Banana man and his sidekick.

@gelsasser4 yes but this is about educating, frankly uneducated, individuals with blatant lies when they really won't know any better.

The mental contortions that the Christian Creationists go through to justify the validity of the stories from ancient superstitious Jewish goat herders would be just hilarious if they weren't so influential in ruining science education and just plain rational thought in general.
Hmmm....burning books? Bookmarks placed past Ray's introduction? Sounds a litle like CENSORSHIP?? What are you people so scared of??? Aren't you the same people who "preach" tolerance and the exchanging of ideas?" Even if they are "ridiculous" to you, shouldn't people be allowed to make up their own minds? I get so tired of hearing how Christians preach "hatred," when the only thing I've heard out of the atheists mouths are support for the things they supposedly stand against.

Just for the record, we don't advocate burning books--in this video, or anywhere else. The bookmark? Just a little tongue-in-cheek fun to let people know what's banana oil...and what's real science in this book. Note, too, that many many many people who support evolution are not atheists. Many NCSE members are members of the clergy! Our staff theologian (yep, we have one) just returned from the Vatican--and the Church has no problem with Darwin or evolution.
