I notice that you rest your arms on that pad, I have a problem with throwing and arthritis in my arms. Holding my arms in my legs or waist hurts. Any suggestions? also you said the clay was 300 grams? is that 2.5 cups of clay.
Hey Simon thanks for the demo. I am in a ceramics 1 class but have thrown on the potter’s wheel before. Not as easy as it looks :) never thought of tapering (inside to out) the lip of a pot, cup, mug... before. I think I will use that in my next piece.
By the way do you have any tips for centering clay on the wheal?? I have never tried this and want to be ready when I do try it.
I have a question. Please someone answer. When you center the lump for a mug or any piece, do you flatten the lump of clay (the step before you open the clay up) to the guide??? I hope this is clear.
Hi Simon, it's me again. I try to incorporate the way you do things, I hope that you don't mine. How does the mirror help and I somehow got use to using my finger rolled up instead of straight out like you do. I will try that to see how it works out. Thanks for your many helpful tips.
great tips... Im going to use them today. Have to make 4 usable vessels either kitchen or tableware today. Im a beginner still exploring... great videos simon.
why do you not throw on bats? It will save you time lifting the pots off, and ensue that you don't damage the pot in transportation.
