  • The "dock" is a long walkway that some of us called the "boardwalk". It makes life a lot easier when the snow starts to melt and the water can get a few feet deep. The track is what is called the "tramline". Another group of researchers uses that to mount an instrument on which measuresthings like methane and carbon dioxide coming out of the tundra ... they can "run" the instrument along the tramline rather than pick it up and replace it in a new spot for every different measurement.

  • Hey, 4 min and 52 sec into the "show' there is a picture of a woman with blond hair and an orange jacket and a man in a gray jacket "fighting" with shovels. They are standing on some sort of "dock" made out of what appears to be wood and are standing beside a long track? of some sort that seems to go on forever into the distance. Could you please elaborate a bit on this pic?
