  • Dude, you managed to score only one freakin' goal??? Come on! I used to have this same game and it was fairly easy to score in the double digits.

  • I'm not playing the game. If you watch closely you will notice that I set-up a demo purposely to let the Mega Drive run the contest between two evenly-matched teams. My intention is to showcase the game, not to display my playing ability.

What made you think I was playing as the United States?

  • I like to play it sometimes even now, fifteen years later.

  • so many good memories .my mates and i were late for school many a time because of this game!!

  • I love how a slapshot 1:31 went all the way down to the other end of the ice. lol

  • Why did the lepers Hockey match have to be abandoned? There was a face-off in the corner!

  • I would never have imagined liking an ice hockey game until I played ths one, then bought NHL94 which was an upgrade of this, (allowed one touch shots and stuff). Although this one allowed fighting which got taken out of the sequals. NHL95 tried to improve but was not so good.

  • The first game I ever played. I must've been about 4 or 5. Never forget it. Classic.

  • not bothered about ice hockey but me and my mates loved this game! i remember tho there used to be a gaurenteed way of scoring from center. u had to dribble down the side, the goalie wud come out leaving a big whole near post. what a great game tho!

  • Is it me or does the music sound like it should be on Road Rash? Haha

  • There were several "easter egg" players in this game, like Switzerland #25 and #22 if I remember them correctly. Almost every shot got into the goal. But the later NHLs from EA had similar bugs, like pressing pass during offsides resulted a perfect 0 degree line towards enemy goalie, resulting as a goal every time.

  • Mark Recchi!

  • I read somewhere that this game originally featured NHL teams but that the version with the international teams is what came out in Europe. If so, I think the Soviet Union are the Pittsburgh Penguins in disguise! 66=Lemieux, 77=Coffey, 55=Murphy, 25=Stevens. Not sure who 8 would be.
