i get so many questions regarding the amazing spectrum of prices that the same companies charge different individuals.

and i think its time the glass art community said something about these obviously explotative methods and ways in which oxygen supplieres seem to operate!

fight for your right to resonable cost!

if they wont help you check out the hurricane concentrator for glass artists.

  • I'm about to go to liquid oxygen, but nobody can tell me the answer to one question........ How loud is the pressure valve releasing and how often would it happen if the tank was left unused and full?

  • @kittyriu it is pretty loud (over 100 decibles) on a full venting, and it will go off daily if a tank is unused. not something you can really do if you are in a neighborhood. also you have to check with your local fire marshal to make sure you can have liquid legally in the location of your studio, if you get caught with a tank in an illegal location the fines can be very high.

  • Here in Australia, I pay $124.50 for a k tank.

I really need to get a oxy con quick.

I am thinking about getting the "Newlife Intensity 8'

It is 8 LPM, 20 PSI. Will this run a Lynx?

  • holy hell! i could not afford my buisness if i had to pay that much per tank! it would put me at well over a hundred a day in cost! for o2 alone!

8lpm will run a lynx, though I dont think you will run it maxed out. as in i think you will get around 80-90 percent of the absolute highest controlable flame. though you are talking about 20psi and I have only got firsthand experience with 5psi medical units. so I would well imagine that you will get years of service out of a newlife intensity 8!

  • So I've gathered most of my lampworking supplies, and I've decided airgas will probably be my place for oxy. Now I just would like to know, how to they price tanks or do they rent them out? and what is the price difference between the 180LT230 and a regualar K tank? Thanks your videos have educated me very well.

  • great tips but turn the video music volume down before starting to talk id rather here you then that techno stuff, thanks

  • What do you pay for the 180 liquid? I don't use K compressed tanks. I am currently trying to haggle since we use two liquid tanks each month and soon will be 3. Knowing your 180 liquid would be helpful.. thanks for all you do.

  • Horay for just... ending... :) Good video. I was trying to explain to my buddy some of the intricacies of the mixture(s) you use with your torch and why its important for you to be able to control the temperature of your flame and how overheating various colors changes them. Think you could do a brief explanation of the thermodynamics and chemistry of the torch and colors for us unknowing of the flame working arts?

  • Thumbs up for "Airgas" same supplier I use & relatively the same price.

Yes indeed, haggle with your supplier, can it hurt?

    Nice info Robert.

    Thanks

    joe
