Also known as Mr P. Punk, this is a blast from the past, circa 1992. One of Australia's greatest unsung pub bands was led by the hottest rocker we've seen in these parts, Josie Jason. The band has since gone their separate ways but as individuals can still be found around the Melbourne traps.

I should mention, I'm in the film clip

  • Found some images I took of Josie (and others) at Rock Gods II in 2008. If only I'd known that would be the last time I'd ever see her. For some reason I can't put the link here. Google "josie jason" "rock gods ii" to find them.

  • OMG! That's the saddest news. I had the best times of my young life while following Josie's exploits around Melbourne. It's always the same - the good die young. R.I.P. Josie.

  • I was so glad I was a part of it. You can see & my girlfriend at the time for all of about a second in the second row. :-) Also glad I made the effort to digitise the video before it succumbed to the ravages of time and I left Australia. These are the good times in life I remember so well.

  • Yep - she is the rhythm guitarist for Nat Allison Band, and lead for Mother. find them both through my Myspace profile. Both are playing the HiFi Bar on March 14.

  • She was a guitar teacher at my school. She overhead me playing some Van Halen stuff and complimented me on it. The first person to do so... rest in peace..

  • We used to follow Jimi the human around a bit and to hear of the passing of Josie Jason brought a tear to my eye, R.I.P Josie.............

  • So sad to hear of the passing of Josie Jason... I saw her play many times and I especially remember one gig with Jimi The Human at Broadford in the early 90's and they played the Friday night. And She TORE THE PLACE TO PIECES !!!!!!! It was one of those nights when the venue, the crowd, the band just ROCKED!!!! Josie Jason. Well Remembered and fondly thought of...Always

  • You be sadly missed Josie. Loved your work, loved all the jams we had. R.I.P. You were one in a million.
