Rwanda comes to Bury St Edmunds..... set to the anthemic tune of "Waving Flag" by K'Naan, this dance was created using a fusion Rwandan and Western influence to celebrate our partnership with Rwanda, our partnership with the Rwandan High Commission, Mururu School and Rwanda Aid. The aim was to create something which would provide a stimulus for our students to explore Central / East African culture and History through the medium of dance. You will see some of the influences in the clips of traditional Rwandan dance sent to us by our partner school in the latter part of the film. You'll also see how the dance was taught to our Chinese and English partner schools and subsequently performed in Shanghai, China. We have a passionate commitment to global learning at King Edward VI School.... we are living in a globalised world.... we need to be a globalised school! Well done to all the students and teachers involved.
