Tiger Translate 2007 kicked off to a resounding success over the weekend as its New York showcase unveiled a collection of commissioned works from the most progressive and cutting-edge emerging artists in Asia. Held at one of Manhattan's newest event spaces, The Xchange, the event on 31 March saw attendance from over 500 trend-setting members of the New York arts and design community. Among the artworks showcased in NYC were those of Singapore-based Malaysian graphic- illustrator Kuanth, Malaysian mix-media artist Stephen Lau, and New York-based Singaporean photographer, Jing. These three Tiger AKAs attended the New York event alongside international design collective Surface to Air, fashion designer Mary Ping and lighting specialist James Clar. Guests at the event were treated to a musical journey with internationally-renowned DJ duo A Touch of Class, tabla-sensation Suphala, multi-talented solo producer Taylor McFerrin, and the New York debut of DJ Burnt Friedman.
