bmonz 08 yeah hard bro My grand uncle was there the maori boys were heavily out numbered,the yanks had a problem drinking in the same bar as dark skin people.The other ALLIED soldiers apart from the yanks knew about the maori battalion and had the utmost respect for them. The americans made a scene and it was all on uncle said there were only about 12 of us but lots of yanks.I may be mistaken but I think the maori boys killed 1 of the yanks in that fight..thats what i was told very sad.
