To clarify,you cannot use moral relativism or urge that values dissonance must be considered when talking about prophets, since the ENTIRE PREMISE is that they are in contact with the ultimate source of good and knowledge

Yet, Muhammad acted much like any other warlord and man of his times. In fact, many religious figures Islam considers outright false were more peaceful than him by far (Buddha). And if a man like Gandhi could free India by peace alone, why would a prophet be worse?

It strikes me as absolutely ridiculous when religious people excuse the bad actions of their prophets by saying "it was part of the times they lived in"

Prophets are supposedly men in contact with god, which (if you are unfamiliar with the concept) is an entity of infinite power and infinite benevolence. A _REAL_ prophet would be a shining beacon of moral values no matter the time, and would not have sex with children, wage war, enslave, raid, or anything. He'd be BEYOND it. Muhammad wasn't.

The 'everyone was doing it back then so it's ok' excuse would work for every man in 7th century Arabia. Except one. Muhammad. This man supposedly received revelations from God giving the most specific instructions on how to live - how to eat, sleep, pray etc. These instructions were for EVERY people in EVERY time, including us today. The fact that no revelation appeared saying 'don't have sex with a child' shows that Allah thinks it is fine. Muhammad's supposed connection to God condemns him.
