  • thanks for posting, I was born and raised nearby and spent many a happy evening train spotting at the station and from that bridge. We also caught the train for holidays at Corfe castle.

    So many memories

  • What a great place Parkstone was on summer Saturdays in the early 60's. Virtually non-stop holiday traffic, bankers, light engines, M7 push-pulls, variety of loco's and a great view of up trains tackling the bank all the way from Whitecliff Bridge. Can't believe the amount of greenery now. From the footbridge you could see the smoke from up trains from about where Poole bus station is now. Backed up with a great view over to the Purbecks. I'll go Std 4 2-6-0 as well. Thanks for posting.

  • It's a standard 4.These were the regulars on these workings.

  • But not an N Class! Looks like a Standard 4 2-6-0 to me.

  • Great bit of footage!
