Protest of Hawaii's Smoking Ban Smoke Free bars

January 2007 protest at the Hawaii state capital by nearly 100 bar owners as well as some smokers. Bar owners had lost roughly 30% of their business from the ban. David Kawika Crowley confronts anti-smoking extremist Zysman at O'Toole's. Zysman is a professional anti-smoking lobbyist and not even a customer of O'Toole's. She show up completely unwanted just to cause trouble. BTW the lawsuit she claims she wasnted never happened - she had no case.

Barbarians and children. At least here in Wisconsin both our smokers and non smokers have the intelligence to see how the smoking ban improves things, and we get sub zero winters. So if our smokers here are willing to put up with such conditions, you guys should suck it up and stop whining, at least you guys have good weather year round to smoke in.

I watched a video from Wisconsin not to long ago that a number of Wisconsin bars are now smoke-easies. They are letting people brake the law because of the loss of business they have suffered. Hawaii doesn't have snow but it rains a lot and it is rarely predictable.

What burns me is it's always people like Zysman who get their way. Something offends them, they complain, they get laws passed and enforced. Why do governments always capitulate to people like her?

One time her group did a fund drive to the general public for a beach smoking ban and only got one donation for $20. Groups like hers practically live at legislatures lobbying because her target, the bars what nothing to do with her.
