This guy was the beethoven of insane rock music and zappa might have been as close to our modern day Mozart as possible.

Napoleon Murphy Brock, George Duke, Ruth Underwood, Tom Fowler, Chester Thompson this "Roxy and Elsewhere" line up has to be arguably be Zappas best ensemble after the Mothers, thanks for posting this! Aired originally on PBS in 1974 I think... :)

@PierreGrondinLeBlanc Zach Glickman, who I believe was involved in promotion for Zappa. That's one of my favorite aspects of Zappa the humorist; he made the people he worked with (both the musicians AND the promoters/management) the punchline of a lot of his jokes, and most were more than willing to add their humorous take on the circumstance. As many others have commented, he seemed to have so much fun with this band, and I'm sure the audience had fun, too.

Right around 7:36, Tom Fowler and George Duke slip into "got a spot that gets me hot/but you ain't into it" (from Dinah Moe Humm).

The mid 70s era of the Mothers puts any of the rest of Frank's bands to shame. It's so clear how much FUN they are all having up there, and that's why "music is the best"!
