If you were really making up a bunch of Aerogel, you would be a millionaire. This stuff is not Aerogel. Hold a blowtorch up to it. I dare you!

You are right, this is sol-gel, aerogel is made of it by supercritical drying.

Para hacer esto en casa, tomar el vinagre y el silicato de sodio. Diluir con agua a 1:1. Tome cantidades iguales de ambas soluciones. Ácido revolviendo constantemente. Goteo de silicato añadir. Filtrado. Forma de gel en cuestión de minutos a varias horas dependiendo de los coeficientes de concentración.
