I have done road tests on BMW R1200RTs over the years and found them to be a "perfect" long distance motorcycle. It has real world power with a flat torque curve. It will surprise you on how well it corners at warp speeds. With a long option list it never fails to impress and bring a smile to the owner. As far as the video, lovely countryside and a BMW R 1200 RT what else you need.

@Tentors - I've been delighted with the bike. It's everything I'd hoped it would be and more. Riding motorways is comfortable around the legal limit and obviously will go quite a bit faster if needed - set the cruise control and relax. Riding the narrow highland roads was great fun and the bike is very forgiving if you find yourself having to scrub off speed in a hurry. I'd say have a good test ride to make sure you're comfortable with the bikes riding position and then go for it!

@hampstead1951 looking to buy the 1200RT can you tell me if the bike lives up to its reputation of an all rounder and have you had any issues at all with the bike since youve bought it , thanks ..

I'm taking delivery of my new R 1200 RT next week and will be touring the Scottish highlands in late August. I'm looking forward to it and this video has increased my anticipation. The RT is a great bike whether you're on the motorway or the twisties and my wife says it's the most comfortable bike she's been on.
