ParkZone planes are some of the most popular for many reasons. From their great looks, historically accurate livery, RTF, BNF or PNP completion levels and great flight characteristics the ParkZone Warbirds are great planes. The Modding community has also embraced the ParkZone warbirds and you can see countless planes that have been modified with flaps, repainted or even have had retracts installed. While this is great and we love to see custom projects we've also heard many requests from pilots to make adding options, such as retracts and flaps, even easier. The design team at Parkzone has heard the call and announced the next generation of Z-foam warbirds in the P-47 Thunderbolt.
While the new features such as the optional flaps and optional retracts are cool this is a very neat plane right out of the box and doesn't require any modification to be a great flier. The Thunderbolt includes a new 2200mAh, 25C 3S Li-Po battery, E-flite 30-amp Brushless ESC, 15-size motor and Spektrum AR600 receiver making it, arguably, the most capable warbird ParkZone has ever produced. Matt Andren is one of the lead designers for ParkZone and joined us in-studio to talk about the features of this outstanding bird. We can't wait to be able to test fly one ourselves and, after listening to Matt, we're sure you'll feel the same way.

  • would you recommend this rc plane for a beginner or the T-28D TROJAN

    someone help mee please

    thanx for reading

  • @sheilstar12 Neither. For a beginner you'll want to start with something like the Super Cub LP from HobbyZone

  • I noticed that all of the landings have taken place on a runway. If you have the retracts, are they strong enough to handle landing in grass?

  • @ljdcrazy13 It would handle landing and taking off as well as the Corsair

  • what kind of paint can you use on it

  • @chrisocar From Matt Andren:

The Tamiya water based will be close but a better match is Rustolium Metal Finish paint. There are 2 different cans, one with a silver cap and one with a chrome cap. The one with the silver cap is the can you want to match the paint on the P-47. Just use light coats initially to avoid damaging the foam.

  • This wasn't my third aircraft it was my first and I love it!!!!!

  • i have about 16 hours of flighttime on this plane now and cant tell you enough how much i enjoy this thing, thanks guys and have a great 2012 with many new and exciting releases.

  • @giles503 if you ask me i would say yes, not by much but a little bit. The BF-109 seem to handle stronger winds a little bit better then then P-47, at least in the standard configuration. But the P-47 handls a bit better under normal conditions, doing rolls and loops and stuff. And she is also a bit easier to land. The BF-109s gear is more narrow therefor its a little bit trickier to handle, specially when you land on a grass strip. Happy flying.

  • hi just wondering is the p47 easyer to fly than the me109

please reply before the new year thank you ...

  • Lol....... I like......this plane is good in grass, but I have run into some small problems if you come in a little hot. I broke a landing gear strut and tore a chunk of foam out of the wing where the wheel is. I have in-beaded a carbon fiber rode the whole length of the wing on the top side and haven't had any problems since.

  • I loke

  • I really want this plane now

  • @Mark2790 A parkzone hercules would be absalutly awesome!!!

    hint hint horizon
